What is the sinus stent/implant?

A

After your sinus surgery, your doctor may place a small, soft bioabsorbable stent inside your sinus. It gently holds the sinus opening while slowly releasing steroid medication to reduce swelling and scar tissue.

Why was it placed in my nose/sinuses?
